Meghan’s Bold Move: Could Reaching Out to Kate Mend the Royal Rift?

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly making earnest efforts to mend their strained relationship with Prince William and Princess Kate. Following their departure from royal duties in 2020 and subsequent revelations in interviews and memoirs, tensions have persisted within the royal family. However, recent developments suggest a potential thaw in relations.​

According to insiders, Harry and Meghan have reached out to Kate Middleton, especially in light of her recent health challenges. Their outreach is seen as a gesture towards reconciliation, aiming to bridge the divide that has grown over the years. An insider noted, “Meghan’s desperate to come across as the bigger person and end this feud between them — appearing like some sort of royal savior could only do her image good.”

The last time Harry and William were seen together was during Queen Elizabeth II’s memorial service in September 2022, alongside Meghan and Kate.

Since then, the silence between the couples has deepened, with both sides believed to have their own personal grievances preventing reconciliation. Yet, sources suggest that Meghan is now eager to mend the situation, hoping to cast herself as a figure of goodwill.

“Meghan’s desperate to come across as the bigger person and end this feud between them – appearing like some sort of royal saviour could only do her image good,” an inside told The New York Times.

“Their hope is that [Princess Kate’s return to work] might take some of the heat off them and possibly trigger a truce with her and William, and with the King, too.” Harry believes Meghan reaching out to Kate could be the key to healing the family

Following controversy earlier this year when Kate faced backlash over editing a photo for her 2024 Mother’s Day post, Harry allegedly urged Meghan to take advantage of the moment.

“Harry thinks it might be the perfect time for Meghan to reach out to Kate because she knows what it’s like to come under fire from the public and the press,” a source told OK! Magazine. “Harry wants his family to return to the UK, and he knows that the only way that will happen is if Meghan can repair her fractured relationship with Kate.”

Earlier this month, Harry returned to the UK briefly for a court hearing involving his ongoing security concerns. Despite public speculation about a possible reunion with King Charles during his visit, no such meeting occurred.

Reports indicate that Charles, who had been aware of Harry’s court schedule months in advance, had prior commitments and was unable to see his youngest son.
